Say NO to Botox, Fillers, Lip Injections and Keep it Glowin’ Naturally.

Aging gracefully isn’t about trying to look like you're 20 something it’s about living your best life and using what you've got i.e what you were born with to be your best self inside out. Like a bottle of fine wine, you can only get better with age and the right self care helps heaps and bounds, of coarse! A lot of people are always asking me what I do to my skin and the truth is I have always taken the natural route and have never had botox, fillers or injections to this day. I don’t have anything against people doing it, it’s just not my thing, I’m not saying one day I won’t, but I haven’t yet because I am a firm believer that through the right diet, exercise and skin care regime, you can reverse aging and keep your skin plump, hydrated and preserved by doing everything naturally.

What you put inside your body plays a big role in how your skin will look and I’m gonna share some of the things I have done throughout the years to help me stay glowed up. First off, eating a plant based diet is super important because it’s rich in anti oxidants, vitamin C and lysine. This helps boost the collagen at the cellular level, which in turn helps the skin stay supple and prevents wrinkles by maintaining the elasticity of the skin. Try to have every meal include at least one plant-based dish. I typically have broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus or zucchini as a side for lunch and dinner. When I snack, I opt for berries, nuts or fresh veggies.

Drink More Water and Herbal Teas. Most of us drink far too little water for our optimal health. I keep a bottle of water with lemon slices at hand wherever I spent most of my day and drink about 4 cups of organic matcha green tea followed by my Glowgetter tea (which you can find at starpone.com) before bedtime.

Include Healthy Fats. Not all fats are bad. High-density lipids (HDL), including monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, are considered "good fats," and are essential to a healthy heart, blood flow and blood pressure. I like to have my first coffee of the day with grass-fed unsalted butter and MCT oil. I blend it until it gets super frothy then I drink it. Healthy fats like MCT oil, omega-3s and omega-6s are the building blocks of healthy cell membranes. These polyunsaturated fats also help produce the skin's natural oil barrier which is critical in keeping skin hydrated, plumper, and younger looking.

Get Your Butt Moving. Pick something you like and pick something you know you will do often that will not have you dreading your workout. My favorite exercise is jumping on my Bellicon rebounder made with bungee cords not metal ones. Studies indicate bouncing on a rebounder helps increase blood circulation to your skin, which helps flush away impurities and distributes oxygen and other nutrients to it. This makes your skin glow with its natural color and tightens your face, neck and all over body.

Get Your LED Mask Out and Use it Weekly. Red light therapy can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and decrease inflammation because it deeply penetrates the skin to boost collagen. LED (light-emitting diode) light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that enters the skin’s layers to improve the skin. In the 1990s, NASA began studying LED’s effects in promoting wound healing in astronauts by helping cells and tissues grow. You can also buy an array of at-home devices that use LED light therapy, including LED masks and starpone.com has 2 incredible LED mask(s) that can help with all of your skin concerns. One is a 3 light the other 7 light. Check out our store for more details.

Use a Retinol Cream. I get my doctor to write me a prescription for a mild retinol cream and I use that 2 days a week at bedtime as a special treatment and the rest of the week I use vitamin C serum followed by vitamin C cream because it’s more gentle on skin. All of these things exercised daily will keep your skin looking great and will keep you away from the stress botox, fillers and injections cause.

I personally think fillers and injections are not the way to look glowed up in fact they create a facial "alienization“ look due to people trying to look like filtered images they see on social media and this unrealistic look they have in mind just ends up ruining a persons natural beauty . The thing is, trying to achieve a filtered look in person only makes people look like cat aliens from another planet it doesn’t turn out the way they think it will. If you want to use filters do so but don’t ruin your natural face with these procedures because your aging process will be dependent upon them for life and it will make you age terribly and rapidly. The epidemic people are feeding into is very serious because it’s botching perfectly beautiful faces simply because people have a distorted image of how they see themselves in real life because they are comparing themselves to filtered images. I think that is called brainwashing. Hmmm. If people just took care of and nurtured their natural beauty they would be more than enough because the truth is nothing is more beautiful than the real face you were born with not a man made one.
